25th January 2006 Major investment extends Nimbus capabilitiesWelsh specialist food company Nimbus Foods has made a significant investment in new equipment to extend capacity and enlarge its product range. The Dolgellau based company, which specialises in the manufacture of innovative inclusions, decorations and toppings, has purchased a new Byworth MX2000 steam boiler, a high temperature syrup continuous mixer extruder from BCH and a meringue production line supplied by Brook Food Processing. All three new investments will allow Nimbus to expand its capabilities significantly and offer an even more flexible service to its diverse range of customers. The investment, totalling more than a third of a million pounds, has been supported by a Regional Selective Assistance grant from the Welsh Assembly Government. "In the last three years we have refined and extended our product range dramatically in order to develop inclusions, decorations and toppings that can meet every specific customer demand," said Nimbus Managing Director, David Wynne. "By investing in these three new pieces of equipment we now have the capability to push harder at the boundaries of technological development and add even greater value to our customers' product ranges." The current Nimbus range includes inclusions produced especially for the bakery, cereals, confectionery, dairy, desserts and ice cream markets, together with a wide range of decorations and toppings. Nimbus products can be produced to withstand temperatures, ranging from -18C to +200C, and can work in any environment, be it ambient, chilled or frozen. The company has core range of around 50 products, including biscuit, cereal, crocant, fudge, honeycomb, meringue and toffee, together with luxury products such as chocolate coated fruits and specialist inclusions, such as Never Nuts, suitable for nut free environments and Odourless Mints, which prevents flavour transfer. --Ends--
